Conference Logistics

Hands-on sessions

Hands-on sessions are limited to 25 persons to ensure that all participants have access to an individual computer.

Site visits

The conference committee has again negotiated with a number of organisations to enable conference delegates to have a first-hand view of industry applications of information technology. Take the opportunity to join one of the optional site visits.

Site visits incur an additional cost of $12.50 per person per site visit, to cover the cost of transportation if required. The number of delegates attending these site visits is strictly limited.

Catering

The annual conference is fully catered with continuous tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast, morning tea and lunches are provided. Those with special dietary requirements should complete the appropriate section on the registration form. Breakfast, morning tea and lunch (except Monday) are served within the surrounds of the Trade Show Exhibition - The View, Level 4, The Grandstand.

Trade show exhibition

VITTA has invited a selection of companies to exhibit at this year's Trade Show Exhibition. The trade show gives delegates a chance to converse with an expanded range of companies and service providers who will be showcasing cutting-edge products and developments used to assist in our teaching strategies. The Trade Show is located on The View, Level 4, The Grandstand.

Breakfast, Morning tea, Tuesday and Wednesday lunch and plenary drinks sessions will be held within the surrounds of the Trade Show Exhibition.

Publishers stands

A number of publishers are located on Level 4,The View, The Grandstand at the Epsom Rd end of the Trade show exhibition.

Conference resources

Included in the registration cost of every delegate attending the 2004 conference will be session notes in a printed format for all sessions. As well, detailed session notes, Powerpoint presentations and other resources for all sessions will be provided on CD.

Pricing (incl. GST)

A non-members surcharge exists for schools or individuals who are not currently members of VITTA. This fee is in addition to the respective individual or school member rates that are payable.

For non-members the individual price is only applicable when an individual (rather than a school) is making the payment (i.e. a non-member whose school is paying admission, must pay the appropriate school member rate plus the surcharge). However school payments at the individual member rate will be accepted for current individual members.

Late Fees

A late fee of $50 applies for any registrations received after Monday 8^th November 2004.

Cancellations

There is no refund if less than one week of notice is given. Cancellation prior to this will incur a 25% cancellation fee.

Ample parking is available at the venue.

The venue can be reached by public transport, with the closest train station being 'Newmarket'. The tram No. 57 can take you from the station to Gate D.

Shuttle Service

For those reaching Flemington by means other than private transport, a shuttle service will operate between the Gate D entrance and The Grandstand between the hours of 8am and 10am and 4pm and 5pm. The shuttle will run between destinations every 15 minutes.
